Gallery Below are some photos of our work within the Nehemiah Rebuilding Ministry. This is a photo of the team who visited a camp in the Adjumani District in February 2019 just after civil unrest had erupted in South Sudan. Thousands had to flee. The conditions and plight of the refugees were terrible … The UN and others had not had time to prepare adequate water, medical care and accommodation for the refugees. This was taken at the Prayer and Fasting Conference in January 2020 These two shots were taken at a training programme and conference in Kiryandongo Refugee camp in 2018 These two shots were taken at a training programme and conference in Kiryandongo Refugee camp in 2018 Another shot taken in Kiryandongo camp in 2018 This is a shot of Ps Henry and his family taken just a few weeks after his accident in October 2019 This was taken in the Sudanese Community Church in January 2020 Another shot of refugees in Adjumani. Conditions are terrible with severe lack of water, food, medical care and protection for children. Another photo from Adjumani. One of the dear women who had fled from her home several weeks previously and is now living in a refugee camp in Adjumani, Northern Uganda. The camp has 10,000 people ( 70% children) but only shelter for 3,000. One of the many babies in South Sudan. This is Ps Henry with some of his team preparing for a drive, over terrible roads, to Lainya County where two conferences were held in January 2015. Leaders and young people came from very poor communities in outlying areas to be taught in the word of God. Ps Pam ministering to a group of South Sudanese women living in Kampala, Uganda. Some of these women are widows and others are with their children who are lucky enough to be attending school and university. Ps Henry preaching at a crusade on the roadside in the outer suburbs of Juba, South Sudan. The sound equipment was purchased by NRM so large crowds of people can hear. There is no shelter and only a few chairs. Until June 2015 Ps Henry had to hire a vehicle. None of these problems stop the effectiveness of the ministry to these hungry and desperate people. Fundraising for NRM at a barbecue in Perth. The money raised is all spent in improving the lives of South Sudanese people in South Sudan and Australia. Happy children, all doing well at school, healthy and happy since arriving in Australia in late 2009 This is Ps Henry’s family. Another baby girl was born in October 2014. His wife and children live in Kampala where it is safer and the children attend school regularly. Clare has also finished her university studies and is looking for work to help support the family. Henry lives in Juba, South Sudan and visits when he can. Ps Henry was part of a group of pastors who travelled around South Sudan in 2014 where thousands of people repented on behalf of their country asking God to have mercy and heal their land. This photo typifies the mood of hopelessness and despair so evident in the refugee camps in Uganda after the outbreak of civil war in December 2013. Since that time millions of people have been displaced and are largely without hope. The situation is dire. This group of children and older men asked us to pray for them then sent their greetings to the people in Australia who sent us. A very humbling experience! This young girl had been so traumatised by what she had witnessed that she lost the ability to do more than blink and swallow. This condition is common in South Sudan amongst those who have witnessed the most horrific events. NRM seeks to help wherever it can. The young woman in white on the left of the picture is the mother of eight children who are all living completely in the open with scant supplies. One of the three or four pots of beans, lentils and porridge that had to stretch to feed 10,000 every day.
